Placerville's Gold Rush Chorus has been promoting Barbershop Harmony in El Dorado County for over 35 years.. .As a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (aka SPEBSQSA), we have recently embraced the Society's Everyone in Harmony initiave. That means we welcome congenial people of good character interested in good singing, regardless of gender, (yes, women are singing with us!!), age, musical ability - or any other critera.
We serve the community by public and private performances, annual shows, casual "Cabaret" shows and our Singing Valentine's program. We have also supported local school musical programs by inviting High School performances in our shows and donating tens of thousands of dollars to their programs over the years.
Our rehearsals are focused, but always fun and we enjoy getting together for the sake of Fellowship and Harmony. While we encourage members to explore opportunities to form Barbershop Quartets, our collective focus is pleasing our audience with an ensemble sound. We're here to learn together and support one another, so no one is ever called out or put on the spot. Recorded learning tracks make learning easy. You are invited to visit a rehearsal and see why our members all agree: they wish they had found us sooner!
